Since 2023, Bayer Taiwan has partnered with AgriWeather in Chiayi to cultivate "Jia-Sui No. 9" corn, a variety developed by Bayer. Amid the disruptions of extreme weather, monitoring via AgriWeather’s time-lapse cameras and sensors revealed that this variety possesses exceptional heat tolerance and heavy rain resistance. Following severe typhoon rains during this cultivation cycle, the variety achieved a germination rate of 80%—far surpassing the mere 10% seen in the control variety. This is not just an agricultural experiment; it is a tangible demonstration of how technology can bring regenerative agriculture to life.

Following the harvest, Bayer donated 1,300 ears of corn to the Garden of Hope Foundation, the Taiwan Association for Child and Adolescent Hope, and the Our Lady of China Foundationn, allowing food to move from the fields into society as a concrete act of public welfare. This collaborative model simultaneously addresses SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).

In the pomelo-producing region of Tainan, Bayer also collaborated with AgriWeather and the Top 100 Young Farmer behind "Yu You Orchard" to implement sensors and a farming app. This initiative assists farmers in coping with disrupted flowering periods and soil management challenges caused by weather anomalies. These digital agriculture practices have ultimately provided highly compelling storytelling material for Bayer’s sustainability reports.

Through the "Tech The Dreamers" initiative, the Taiwan Mobile Foundation has supported AgriWeather and the "Buy Direct From Farmers" team in conducting innovative experiments that merge smart agriculture with eco-friendly farming practices.

In this project, the AgriWeather team deployed soil sensors and micro-weather stations to assist four farmers cultivating organic king oyster mushrooms, soybeans, paddy rice, and kiwifruit, ultimately enhancing their disaster resilience and management efficiency. AgriWeather not only provides visualized data that helps the foundation and the general public grasp these technological achievements, but also continuously tracks long-term outcomes—delivering quantified benefit statistics and comprehensive survey reports that enable sponsors to consistently monitor their social impact.
